Checklist: WAS installation
Step 1: Plan the installation
- ____ Read the Overview of WAS for iSeries.
- ____ Read the product Release Notes for the appropriate version of WAS. For more information, see WAS for iSeries Release Notes (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/was400/docs/relnotes502.html) .
- ____ Schedule enough time for each step of the process. For more information, see Time considerations for installing WAS.
- ____ Evaluate the available installation options and determine which options you require. For more information on the available options, see WAS for iSeries installation options.
- ____ Determine if WAS is already installed on your server. For more information, see Plan the installation.
- ____ Determine if WebSphere MQ is already installed on your server. For more information, see Plan the installation.
- ____ Determine if WebSphere MQ classes for Java and JMS is already installed on your server. For more information, see Plan the installation.
- ____ Verify that your systems meet all hardware and software prerequisites.
- ____ iSeries hardware requirements. For more information, see iSeries prerequisites for installing WAS.
- ____ iSeries software requirements. For more information, see iSeries prerequisites for installing WAS.
- ____ (Optional) Select a workstation on which to install the workstation components of WAS. You can administer the WAS environment from any supported Web browser without installing any workstation components. For more information, see Install the workstation tools for WAS.

- ____ OS/400 cumulative PTFs

Step 2: Install WAS

Step 3: Create an initial configuration
