Viewing which marketing activities reference a promotion
Certain promotions might be referenced directly in marketing activities created in the Marketing tool. If so, you can open the promotion and click a tab labeled References to view a list of those marketing activites and change them directly from the Promotions tool, if required.
The References tab makes it easier for you to manage the promotion along with its related activities, for example, to ensure that both the promotion and the activity are active at the same time and to coordinate scheduling. Before deactivating a promotion, you can check the References tab to ensure that there are no active marketing activities referencing the promotion.
There are two types of marketing activites that reference promotions:
- Dialog activities that use the Issue Coupon action to automatically add a coupon to a customer's coupon wallet; in this case, the Dialog activity references a coupon promotion.
- Web activities that use the Recommend Promotion action to display clickable information about a promotion on the store pages.
Procedure
- Open the Promotions tool.
- From the explorer view, click Promotions. The Promotions - List page opens.
- Right-click the promotion that to check for related marketing activities; then click Open.
- Click the tab labeled References. The tab lists any Web or Dialog activites that reference this promotion.
- To view or edit any activity listed on the References tab, double-click the row containing the activity; to return to the promotion, click the promotion name in the explorer view.
