Import promotion codes

You can import the own set of unique promotion codes from a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have created a CSV file containing the unique promotion codes, adhering to the following guidelines:

For example, the CSV file might resemble the following output when adhering to the guidelines:

VIP-123-889-0221
A3-811-3125
IBM-123-239-MMK-b2293
IBM-123-239-MMK-b2294

Procedure

  1. Open the Promotions tool.

  2. From the toolbar, click New > Promotion Code Import.

  3. Enter or browse to the file path of the local CSV file. The file size is calculated and displayed for reference.

You can only upload one CSV file at a time.

  4. Optional: Enter a name for the imported promotion codes.

Although the original file name is automatically entered into the field and can be kept as-is, the imported promotion code's name does not require a file extension. The summary report of the import task is displayed. This report contains any errors encountered when activating a promotion that populates promotion codes in this CSV file.

  5. Click Save to save the promotion codes, or click Save and Close to close the Promotion Codes Import tool, and return to the list page.

Your uploaded CSV file becomes a new Promotion Code Import file that can be associated and activated with a promotion.

Each Promotion Code Import can only be associated with one promotion at a time.

From the explorer view, click Promotion Code Imports. The Promotion Code Imports - List is displayed and shows all Promotion Code Imports that have been imported to the store.
