Complete the following steps to configure directory services with WebSphere Commerce:
- Prepare the LDAP server for use with WebSphere Commerce
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|Windows:
Configuring IBM Directory Server for use with WebSphere Commerce
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|Windows:
Configuring IBM Lotus Domino LDAP service for use with WebSphere Commerce
- I5/OS:
Configure IBM i5/OS Directory Services for use with WebSphere Commerce
- Solaris:
Configure Sun Java System Directory Server for use with WebSphere
- Windows: Configure Microsoft Active Directory for use with WebSphere Commerce
- Optional: Set up LDAP over SSL.
- Configure basic authentication by selecting one of the following methods:
- If WebSphere Commerce Feature Pack 2 installed, an automated tool is provided to configure basic authentication. Refer to Configuring basic authentication for WebSphere Commerce.
- If WebSphere Commerce Feature Pack 2 not installed, then complete the remaining steps starting with step 4.
- Install Member Manager.

Install Member Manager on your WebSphere Commerce Developer machine
- Configure the WebSphere Commerce database when using customized DNs.
- Configure Member Manager.
- Prepare WebSphere Commerce to use LDAP.
- Configure WebSphere Commerce for use with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Configure the ldapentry.xml file for a custom user DN prefix.
- Updating MemberRegistrationAttributes.xml when using non-default distinguished names
- Update the starter store archives when using non-default distinguished names.
- Enable LDAP in the Configuration Manager.
- Enable WebSphere Commerce Payments under LDAP.
- Test your Lightweight Directory Access Protocol configuration.

- Prepare your LDAP Server for use with WebSphere Commerce Server.
- Set up LDAP over SSL.
- Install Member Manager on your WebSphere Commerce Developer machine.
- Configure the WebSphere Commerce database when using customized DNs.
- Configure WebSphere Commerce Developer and Member Manager.
- Prepare WebSphere Commerce to use LDAP.
- Configure WebSphere Commerce for use with Microsoft Active Directory.
