Design a sales catalog
After creating a new sales catalog or to change an existing sales catalog, use the design functionality.
- Add categories
If you are expanding the store inventory or changing the category structure, you might want to add a new category.
- Changing a category
You can change the information for a category, including name, description, images, and parent category.
- Find a category
You can find a category by using the Find Category option on the Target Catalog page.
- Changing a parent category
You can change the information for a category, including name, description, images, and parent category.
- Changing the category display sequence
To change the order in which customers see categories on the site, you can change the display sequence of the category.
- Duplicate the category structure
You might want to duplicate a category structure in a sales catalog if that structure has worked well in the past.
- Duplicate the category structure and catalog entries
You might want to duplicate catalog entries or a category structure if there are products that sold well during a previous campaign.
- Link a category
If you are creating or updating a sales catalog, you might want to link a category between the master catalog and the sales catalog. For example, a Winter Coats category in the master catalog could be linked with the Coats category in the Winter sales catalog. Linking a category creates a reference to that category in the catalog to which it was linked. All subcategories and catalog entries in the category are also linked.
- Remove a category
You might want to delete a category if you are changing the inventory or reorganizing the catalog structure, and no longer have any use for that category. You cannot delete a category if there are any associated catalog entries.
- Find a catalog entry
You can find a catalog entry by using the options on the Target Catalog page.
- Assign catalog entries to a category
You might want to add additional catalog entries to the sales catalog during various times of the year to reflect marketing goals.
- List catalog entries in a category
You can see all of the catalog entries in a category by selecting the List Catalog Entries option in the category tree.
- Changing catalog entry display sequence
To change the order catalog entries are displayed on the site, you can change their display sequence. Numbers are displayed in ascending order for example, if you assign a sequence number of one, that catalog entry is shown first in the storefront.
- Remove catalog entries
You might want to delete a catalog entry from a sales catalog if you no longer want to display it in that sales catalog.
