Remove a category
You might want to delete a category if you are changing the inventory or reorganizing the catalog structure, and no longer have any use for that category. You cannot delete a category if there are any associated catalog entries.
Procedure
- Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
- Open the Sales Catalogs page: Select Sales Catalogs.
- Click Merchandise > Sales Catalogs
- Click Sales Catalogs > Sales Catalogs
- From the list of available sales catalogs, select a catalog from which to remove a category and click Design.
- From the Target Catalog page, the category tree for the sales catalog displays. Highlight the category to be removed and click Remove Category.
- The category is removed from the sales catalog. Any subcategories are also removed.
- If the category was linked from another sales catalog, then the category will still exist in the other sales catalog.
- If the category was created specifically for the sales catalog, then the category will be deleted entirely from the WebSphere Commerce system.
