Create a sales catalog
You might want to add a sales catalog to the store to promote a seasonal line, such as winter clothing.
Procedure
- Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
- Open the Sales Catalogs page: Select Sales Catalogs.
- Click Merchandise > Sales Catalogs
- Click Sales Catalogs > Sales Catalogs
- Click New. The New Sales Catalog page displays. Add the following information:
- In the Code field, type the sales catalog code, which uniquely identifies the sales catalog in the WebSphere Commerce system. For example, "SC1".
- In the Description field, type a description of the sales catalog. For example, "A discounted selection of end-of-season summer patio furniture and accessories".
- In the Language list, click the language for the catalog. If you are a creating a sales catalog in a language other than the store's default language, ensure that you have created that same catalog in the default store language first.
- In the Name field, type the name of the sales catalog. For example, "Hardware: summer season".
- In the Short description field, type a brief description of the sales catalog. For example, "A discounted selection of end-of-season summer patio furniture and accessories".
- In the Long description field, type a long description of the sales catalog, if applicable. For example, "A discounted selection of end-of-season summer patio furniture and accessories. These end of the line, clearance products allow you to enjoy the outdoors in style, while the savings make it affordable.".
- In the Thumbnail image file and location field, type the thumbnail size image path and name for the sales catalog. For example:
- /images/summerSales_thumb.gif
- \images\summerSales_thumb.gif
- \images\summerSales_thumb.gif
- In the Full size image file and location field, type the full size image path and name for the sales catalog. For example:
- /images/summerSales_full.gif
- \images\summerSales_full.gif
- \images\summerSales_full.gif
- All catalog image files should be placed in the store's defined image directory. The correct image directory and whether you need an absolute or relative path depends on the store's configuration. Ask a store developer with Site Administrator authority for the correct image directory. For example, the WebSphere Commerce starter store images use a relative path to the default installation path.
- Click OK. The new sales catalog is displayed in the list of available catalogs.
