Add a defining attribute value

You can add a defining attribute value to a product. Defining attribute values are used to resolve SKUs. An example of defining attribute values are S, M, L, and XL for a defining attribute of size. Each size of a product would have a different SKU.


Before you begin

You must create an attribute before you can add a value, see Add a defining attribute for an example.


Procedure

  1. Open the Catalogs tool.

  2. From the explorer tree, select a catalog.

  3. Find the product that to add a defining attribute to.

  4. Right-click the product; then click Open. The Product Properties view displays.

  5. Click the Defining Attributes tab. The Defining Attributes list view displays.

  6. In the list view, right-click the attribute; then click Open. The Attribute Properties view displays.

  7. Expand the Attribute Value section; then click New . Complete the following information:

    Option Description
    Sequence The order in which the object is displayed. Numbers are displayed in ascending order.
    Value The value of the attribute. Attribute values are based on the data type such as text, number or decimal.
    Image Path The relative path where the image is located.
    Unit of measure Use this field to select the unit of measure used for the attribute. This field may or may not be displayed by default.

    To display the field as a column in a list view, right click on a column heading in the list view and click Configure Columns.

  8. Click Save and Close, or click Close.
