Changing tax specifications for a SKU
If you want a SKU to have different tax specifications from the product from which the SKU is resolved, you can select taxes that apply to a SKU from a list of taxes that are defined in the store. These tax specifications are used when calculating taxes on an order that include this SKU.
Procedure
- Find the product containing the SKU to change.
- Select a field in the product row containing the SKU to change, and from the Actions menu, click Show SKUs.
- Select a field in the SKU row that to change. The background for the selected field is highlighted, and from the Actions menu, click Change SKU.
- To change sales tax for a SKU, such as "Electronics Sales Tax", from the left navigation frame, click Sales Tax. The Sales Tax page displays. Do the following:
- To assign a sales tax to the SKU, select the tax name from the Available taxes list, and click Add.
- To remove a sales tax assigned to the SKU, select the tax name from the Selected taxes list, and click Remove.
- To change shipping tax for a SKU, "Overnight Shipping Tax", from the left navigation frame, click Shipping Tax. The Shipping Tax page displays. Do the following:
- To assign a shipping tax to the SKU, select the tax name from the Available taxes list, and click Add.
- To remove a shipping tax assigned to the SKU, select the tax name from the Selected taxes list, and click Remove.
- To save the changed tax specifications and close the notebook, click OK.
What to do next
If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator might need to disable caching or remove the currently cached JSP pages.
