SKUs
After you have created the product, create SKUs to represent each orderable item of merchandise for sale. All SKUs related to a particular product exhibit the same set of attributes and are distinguished by their defining attribute values. Create SKUs using the SKU wizard. Or you can automatically generate SKUs for a product, once you have created all required product attributes. The SKU notebook allows you to view or change SKU details, such as names, descriptions, and images, and delete SKUs from the catalog. You can update sales tax, discounts, and shipping categories, and add shipping measurements for each SKU. In the Product Management dynamic table, a SKU is represented by a symbol.
- Create a SKU
For a product to be orderable, create a SKU even if the product does not contain defining attributes.
- Generate SKUs for a product
You can only generate SKUs if there are no SKUs associated with the product. You must first create attributes and attribute values in the store's default language, followed by any supported languages. If there are no defining attributes for the product, the SKU generation will create a single SKU by copying information from that product.
- Changing a SKU
- Delete a SKU
When you delete a SKU, all associated attribute values are also deleted.
- Add SKUs to a bundle or kit
You can add SKUs to an existing bundle or kit:
- Changing the SKU display sequence in a bundle or kit
The SKU display sequence determines the order in which SKUs for a bundle or kit can be displayed on a store page. Set the most the important SKU in the bundle first in the sequence, followed by SKUs of lesser importance. For example, if you had a bundle consisting of a computer, monitor, printer, and scanner, you would set the SKU display sequence so that the SKU of the computer was first.
- Changing the SKU quantity in a bundle or kit
You can change the quantity of SKUs in a bundle or kit.
- Delete shared SKUs from bundles and kits
You can delete shared SKUs from bundles and kits.
- Delete common SKUs from multiple bundles or kits
If multiple bundles or kits contain a number of common SKUs, you can remove a common SKU from all bundles or kits. For example, if a SKU is no longer available, you would want to remove it from all bundles or kits containing that SKU.
