Changing the SKU description
Procedure
- Find the product containing the SKU to change.
- Select a field in the product row containing the SKU to change, and from the Actions menu, click Show SKUs.
- Use one of the following methods to change the SKU name:
- Change SKU notebook:
- Select a field in the SKU row that to change, and from the Actions menu, click Change SKU. The Change SKU notebook opens.
- From the left navigation frame, click Description. The Description page displays.
- Change the description for the SKU,...
- In the Short description field, type a brief description, such as "Women's long leather coat".
- In the Long description 1 scroll box, type a detailed description of the SKU, such as "This black genuine leather trench has a removable lining so that it can be worn throughout the year. Matching buttons, a sleek belt, and tapered seams gives this coat a classic look."
- In the Long description 2 scroll box, type a second detailed description of the SKU, if applicable.
- In the Long description 3 scroll box, type a third detailed description of the SKU, if applicable.
- Click OK to save the changes and close the notebook.
- Product Management dynamic table:
- Click the Description tab and select the field containing the short description. The row is highlighted and the selected table cell is outlined.
- Type the changed short description, such as "Women's long leather coat".
- Type the changed long description, such as "This black genuine leather trench has a removable lining so that it can be worn throughout the year. Matching buttons, a sleek belt, and tapered seams gives this coat a classic look."
- Click the Extended Description tab and change the information under Description 3 and Description 4, if applicable.
- Click Save.

Notes:
- The SKU description is language specific; that is, if the SKU is offered at a French store and a Japanese store, and to change its description for both stores, change the Short description, Long description 1, Long description 2, and Long description 3 fields, as applicable, for each store.
To work in another language, click the Select icon, found in the upper left corner.
- You can switch to a different language only if you are authorized to work with more than one of the WebSphere Commerce supported languages and if the language is available.
- If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator may need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
