Campaigns

Campaigns are optional business objects that serve to organize the marketing efforts. You can associate a campaign to Web, Dialog, and e-mail activities targeted toward customers, which deliver the brand message, promotional information, or other similar material.

Campaigns are typically created by either a Marketing Manager, or by a merchant. They are often associated with a certain set of objectives. For instance, a "Back to School" campaign might have an objective of increasing sales of children's clothes during the campaign.

Within WebSphere Commerce, campaigns contain any number of marketing activities. The result is that a campaign is the high-level marketing element that organizes the activities.

Campaigns are created using the Management Center.

If you are using extended sites, campaigns created in the asset store can be duplicated or referenced by campaign activities in an extended site. Campaigns created in the asset store cannot be modified or deleted in an extended site.

If the store has enabled workspaces, campaigns may be managed using workspaces and inherit the benefits from that feature. Specifically, the campaigns become managed assets, and are subject to the workflows.
