Migrate marketing from WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to Management Center v7

If the site used WebSphere Commerce Accelerator for marketing management before migrating to WebSphere Commerce v7, migrate existing campaigns and Web activities to Management Center using a marketing migration utility. You must also perform some additional configuration tasks to ensure the site supports Management Center marketing features.

  1. Overview of migrating marketing from WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to Management Center v7
Review this information to understand the requirements for and process of migrating existing marketing data to the Management Center v7 Marketing tool.

  2. Migrate campaigns and Web activities from WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to Management Center
By running the marketing migration utility, you migrate existing campaign and Web activity data so that business users can use Management Center to manage all marketing objects, instead of WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  3. Enable Management Center marketing features
To enable the Management Center Marketing tool and certain features that support behavioral marketing, modify several parameters in the WebSphere Commerce configuration file.

  4. Review settings in the marketing component configuration file (wc-admin-component.xml) for Management Center
Certain Management Center marketing functions are controlled by properties in the wc-admin-component.xml file for the marketing component. For example, there are properties for the session length for marketing experiments and for the time of day that certain marketing triggers are processed. Changing these properties is not always required, but it is a good idea to review certain property settings in this file to ensure that the site requirements are met.

  5. Configure the site to support optional Management Center marketing features
There are a number of configuration tasks you might need to perform to support some optional Management Center marketing features. Complete the tasks that are required for the site, if the support is not already in place.

  6. Update store pages to use the e-Marketing Spot JSP sample for Management Center
If you previously used WebSphere Commerce Accelerator for marketing management and you have migrated to the Management Center Marketing tool, update any e-Marketing Spot code on the storefront with a different sample JSP snippet. This is required so that the e-Marketing Spots and the store work properly with the Management Center marketing services.

  7. Options for managing content spots after moving to Management Center
If the store pages contain content spots created in WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, you cannot manage those content spots in Management Center because the Marketing tool does not support content spots. In this situation, you have several options for dealing with existing content spots on the store pages.
