Editing an object

WebArt Designer enables you to change the size and appearance of objects that you create and import to the Canvas. If you want to make the same changes to a group of objects, group them first. When you are done editing your object, save your changes.

Saving a WebArt file
If you have saved an object as a WebArt file (*.mif), you can open the file again, and reuse it as a template.

Grouping and Ungrouping objects (WebArt Designer)
If you want to edit or manipulate several objects as a set, you can group them. When you group objects, you can edit or move several objects at the same time rather than manipulating each individually. If you want to manipulate the objects individually again, you can ungroup the objects.

Sizing objects
You can change the size of objects on the canvas in pixels. Alternatively, you can select an object and use the mouse to drag the squares that surround the object.

Cropping an object
You can crop a portion of an object and place it on the canvas as a separate object.

Editing an object's color, gradation, and texture
You can customize an object's color, gradation and texture.

Editing logo objects
You can customize the appearance of your logo by customizing the text and outline, or you could add an effect.

Changing the shape of a button or photo frame
You could change the shape of a button or photo frame shape by selecting an existing shape in WebArt Designer.

Copying one object's attributes to another object
In WebArt Designer, you can apply an object's attributes to another object, for example, you can make two objects the same size by copying the size attribute. You can copy such attributes as color, text, font, outline, and effect.

Saving objects and the canvas
You can save objects on the canvas as GIF, JPEG, or PNG files. You can also save objects and canvases as WebArt files (*.mif), which is a file type particular to WebArt Designer. Once you save an object as a WebArt file, you can open it in WebArt Designer again and reuse it as template. When you save an entire canvas, you will also save any objects that you placed on the canvas and any attributes that you applied.
