Saving objects and the canvas
You can save objects on the canvas as GIF, JPEG, or PNG files. You can also save objects and canvases as WebArt files (*.mif), which is a file type particular to WebArt Designer. Once you save an object as a WebArt file, you can open it in WebArt Designer again and reuse it as template. When you save an entire canvas, you will also save any objects that you placed on the canvas and any attributes that you applied.
- To save an object as a GIF, JPEG or PNG file:
- On the canvas, select one or more objects that you want to save.
- Select File > Save Wizard for Web.
- Select one of the following:
- Save the selected objects- This option allows you to save the objects that you selected.
- Specify the objects - This option allows you to select an object other than the one you selected. Click Specify and select an object from the List.
ClickNext.
- Select the format in which you want to save your object. Click Next.
- Change the settings for the format you have selected, if necessary. Click Finish.
- Specify the location and the name of the file to be saved in the dialog that appears.
- Click OK.
Note: To save objects as MIF files, select one or more objects that you want to save. Click File > Save Object. Specify the location and the name of the file to be saved and click Save.
- To save a canvas:
- Click File > Save Canvas As.
- Specify the location and the name of the file to be saved.
- ClickSave.
