Work with RFQ responses
- Find responses to a specific RFQ request
- Check the status of RFQ responses
You can check the status of any RFQ response to see its current stage in the workflow. This helps determine whether there are RFQ responses awaiting approval, for instance.
- Retract an RFQ response
If you are unsure if you should cancel or modify an existing response, you can retract the response if it is in an active state. This places the response in an intermediary state from which the response can be canceled or modified.
- Changing an RFQ response
Responses may be changed if they are in a draft or retracted state. The processes differ slightly.
- Cancel an RFQ response
When a response is in a retracted or draft state, the seller can cancel the response. Once a response is canceled, it can no longer be changed. It can be canceled while it is in a draft state or has been submitted to, but has not yet been accepted by the buyer.
- Submit an RFQ response
There are two processes that may be used to submit an RFQ response to the buyer. The difference between the two is an approvals process.
- Approve an RFQ response
If approvals is enabled for the organization, responses must be approved before they are sent to the buyer.
- View the RFQ response list
- Accept a buyer's terms and conditions
- Changing a response to an RFQ comment
- Respond to RFQ attachments
- Substitute a product in an RFQ response
You can substitute a product or dynamic kit in the RFQ response. This is especially useful for a made to order item. The buyer may include a made to order item in the RFQ; the seller then reviews the RFQ, and substitutes the one the buyer had for the one the seller has in the catalog. This can only happen if the buyer has stated that the product or dynamic kit can be substituted. To see this, go to the RFQ Summary page, and click category. In the RFQ product category page, it will indicate if the product or dynamic kit can be substituted.
- Add a remark to an RFQ response
You might occasionally want to add remarks to the response.
- View RFQ response summary and details
- View response remarks
- View a summary of an RFQ customer
- View a summary of a category for an RFQ
- View a dynamic kit configuration report for an RFQ
A configurator determines which a group of items can be sold together. The configurator may also supply a price for the configuration. The report lists all the specifications and values specified by the buyer.
