Work with catalog entries
The Category Manager manages catalog entries in the store including, products, bundles, kits, and SKUs.
- Changing the parent category of a catalog entry
You can change the parent category of a catalog entry in the master catalog to a new category. For example, you can create a new category that better defines the catalog entry.
- Sequence catalog entries
To change the order catalog entries are displayed on the site, you can change their display sequence. Numbers are displayed in ascending order for example, if you assign a sequence number of one, that catalog entry is shown first in the storefront.
- Add unassigned catalog entries to the master catalog
Unassigned catalog entries, are products, SKUs, bundles or kits that do not belong to any category. When you are adding many catalog entries, you can initially put them in an unassigned category to save time, and then add them to the master catalog at a later date.
- List catalog entries in a category
You can see all of the catalog entries in a category by opening the list view. This enables you to make many changes to catalog entries without having to open the properties view of each entry.
- Determine whether a sales catalog, category, or catalog entry belongs to the catalog asset store
If you are using the extended sites model, you might want to find out which sales catalogs, categories, and catalog entries belong to the asset store. Depending on what store the sales catalog, category or catalog entry belongs to, the location of the entries can impact how you can manage those entries. For example, the role access might restrict the ability to manage entries in the asset store.
- View associated assets
You can view assets that are associated with a sales catalog, category, or catalog entry in the Catalogs tool.
- View attachment details
You can view existing attachments that are associated with a sales catalog, category, or catalog entry and the list of files or URLs it contains, all within the Catalogs tool.
- Find and associating assets
You can find and associate assets such as files, URLs or existing attachments to categories, sales catalogs, and catalog entries, all within the Catalogs tool. This enables you to complete activities without switching tools.
- Delete associated assets
You can delete associated assets from sales catalogs, categories, and catalog entries in the Catalogs tool.
- Find attribute dictionary catalog entry attributes
If the attribute dictionary has been loaded into WebSphere Commerce, you can view the attribute dictionary attributes assigned to any catalog entry.
