Install WebSphere Commerce feature packs interactively
You can install your feature pack using an interactive method which uses a graphical install wizard. After navigating through the install panels your feature pack will be installed.
WebSphere Commerce feature pack Prerequisites AIX|I5/OS|Linux|Solaris|Windows:
Feature Pack 1
- WebSphere Commerce v6 with fix pack 1 or higher installed
- WebSphere Commerce V5.6.1 installed
- WebSphere Commerce V5.6 installed
AIX|I5/OS|Linux|Solaris|Windows:
Feature Pack 2
- WebSphere Commerce v6 with fix pack 2 or higher installed
- WAS v6.2.15 or higher 6.0.2 maintenance installed
- At least 500 MB of hard disk space
- The WebSphere Commerce feature pack 2 required maintenance installed
AIX|Linux|Windows:
Feature Pack 3
- WebSphere Commerce v6 with fix pack 4 or higher installed
- WAS v6.2.21 or higher 6.0.2 maintenance installed
- At least 500 MB of hard disk space
- WebSphere Commerce feature pack 3 required maintenance installed
AIX|Linux|Windows:
Feature Pack 3.0.1
- WebSphere Commerce v6 with fix pack 4 or higher installed
- LI72956 fix for WebSphere Commerce v6.0.4
- WAS v6.2.21 or higher 6.0.2 maintenance installed
- At least 500 MB of hard disk space
- WebSphere Commerce feature pack 3 required maintenance installed
Your WebSphere Commerce instance can be active or stopped during the installation of the WebSphere Commerce feature pack.
To install the feature pack...
- Download the WebSphere Commerce feature pack package and depending on your operating system...
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|Windows:
Save the package to a temporary location on a client machine that supports a graphical install.
- I5/OS|Save the package to a temporary location on a client machine that supports a graphical install (for example, a Windows machine).
- The temporary location, where the package has been downloaded, is denoted as the FeaturePack_tempdir in the following sections. Unzip the WebSphere Commerce feature pack package into the FeaturePack_tempdir.
- Depending on your operating system, complete one of the following steps:
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|Log on as the root user.
- Windows: Ensure that your user has Windows administrative user rights.
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|You must export your display, and have access to your X server. For more information, refer to your operating system documentation.
- To launch the installer to install the feature pack, complete the following steps:
- Navigate to the FeaturePack_tempdir directory and launch the installer by issuing the following command:
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|./install
- I5/OS|install.os400.bat
- Windows: install.bat
- I5/OS|The iSeries Logon page is shown. Enter the System Name, User name and Password that you are installing the WebSphere Commerce feature pack on.
Ensure that your user has *ALLOBJ and *SECADM authority.
- On the Welcome page, review the information and click Next to continue.
- Review the IBM license agreement. If the terms of the license agreement are acceptable, check I accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next to continue.
- Review the third party license agreement. If the terms of the license agreement are acceptable, check I accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next to continue.
- On the next page, specify the Product installation location. For WebSphere Commerce specify WC_installdir or WCDE_installdir for WebSphere Commerce Developer. Click Next to continue.
- On the Installation summary page, review the information and click Next. A progress bar is displayed while the files are copied to the WebSphere Commerce installation directory.
- When the installation process is complete, a Summary page is displayed indicating success or failure. Review the information on this page, and click Finish.
- Optional: Review the feature pack installation log located in:
- WC_installdir/logs/FEPX/install/log.txt
- WCDE_installdir/logs/FEPX/install/log.txt
Where X is the feature pack number (1, 2, 3, 301) that you have installed.
If the installation failed, refer to Troubleshoot: WebSphere Commerce feature pack install or uninstall failed.
- You can now enable the WebSphere Commerce features that are included in the feature pack. To enable a feature, refer to Enabling features.
