Enable features
After installing a WebSphere Commerce feature pack, you can enable any of the included features to enhance your WebSphere Commerce instance.Prerequisite
- Each WebSphere Commerce feature pack contains features that you can enable. To enable the features included in the WebSphere Commerce feature pack, you must have a WebSphere Commerce instance created. For information on creating a WebSphere Commerce instance, refer to Installing WebSphere Commerce.
- If you plan to enable any of the features in the feature pack, create backups of your current configuration. To backup the application, issue the following command on the application server machine:
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|WC_profiledir/bin/backupConfig.sh backup_file.zip
- I5/OS:
WC_profiledir/bin/backupConfig backup_file.zip
- Windows: WC_profiledir/bin/backupConfig.bat backup_file.zip
where backup_file specifies the name of the backup file. The system will create this file for you in the WC_profiledir/bin directory.
- If restore your configuration, use the restoreConfig command on the application server machine:
- AIX|Linux|Solaris|WC_profiledir/bin/restoreConfig.sh backup_file.zip
- I5/OS:
WC_profiledir/bin/restoreConfig backup_file.zip
- Windows: WC_profiledir/bin/restoreConfig.bat backup_file.zip
where backup_file specifies the name of the backup file created with the backupConfig command.
- To backup your database, refer to the database vendor's user manual for information on backup and restoring.
