Configure the Business Space component for Process Portal
Install and configure the Business Space component so that Process Portal works properly in the IBM BPM runtime environment.
You must install the product software. When install your product, Business Space files are included with the installation for the profiles that you configured.
For IBM BPM runtime environments that need the Human Task Management widgets, configure Business Process Choreographer. See Configure Business Process Choreographer in the IBM BPM documentation.
The Business Space component is supported with the following database products:
- DB2 Universal
- DB2 for IBM i
- DB2 for z/OS
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle 11g
To find out which databases are supported with your product, check the supported databases for the product.
For all products, if you are setting up dmgr and custom profiles, the simplest way to configure the Business Space component is with the Deployment Environment Configuration wizard.
If you have a stand-alone server environment or you are using the Deployment Environment wizard to configure your runtime environment, Representational State Transfer (REST) service endpoints are configured and enabled automatically. For other environments, use the REST services administrative console page to configure the REST services. If you want IBM BPM widgets to be available, configure the REST service endpoints for those widgets. You must register the REST endpoints so that IBM BPM associates widgets with the endpoints and the widgets appear in the palette for use.
If you are using dmgr and custom profiles, you can use the administrative console to configure the Business Space component.
After your original setup work on pmt.sh or the administrative console, you must also configure the Business Space database.
No matter what tool you used to configure the Business Space component, you must make sure that the configuration works with the security for your IBM BPM environment.

If you want to turn on security, set up application security and designate a user repository. To define administrators, assign a Business Space superuser role.
- Commands (wsadmin scripting) for configuring the Business Space component for Process Portal
Look up a scripting object or command class to find details about its command syntax.- Configure the Business Space Ajax proxy
You might want to modify the Business Space Ajax proxy for special considerations in Process Portal, such as changing timeout settings or blocking IP addresses for secure production environments.
- Migrating widgets (post-product migration)
After migrating your product to V8.0.1, you must perform some additional tasks for the Business Space component before you start your servers or clusters and use Process Portal.- Configure widgets to work with WebSphere Portal
If your team uses IBM WebSphere Portal, you can configure IBM BPM widgets to work in the WebSphere Portal environment.
- Configure Business Space to work with IBM Case Manager
