Completing a user recertification activity

We can recertify roles, accounts and groups that are associated with a particular user. User recertification items are displayed in your activities list.

When you recertify the role, account or group, we are stating whether or not the user needs the role, account or group. Because of the relationship that exists between accounts and groups, an account recertification will affect all groups associated with the account.

If the recertification activity is assigned to a group of users to which you belong, and the activity is locked by another user, you can only view the activity.

To complete a user recertification activity...

  1. From the IBM Security Identity Manager Home page, click Approve and Review Requests on the My Activities page.
  2. On the Approve and Review Requests page, click the name of the recertification activity to complete.
  3. On the Review Request page, select your reviewer action.
    • If the user still requires all roles, accounts or groups, select All for each target type, provide an explanation or justification in the Reviewer Comments field, and then click Submit.
    • If the user no longer requires any of the roles, accounts or groups, select None for each target type, provide an explanation or justification in the Reviewer Comments field, and then click Submit.
    • If one or more roles, accounts or groups are no longer required, select No for each role, account or group you want to reject, type an explanation or justification in the Reviewer Comments field, and then click Submit. Your decisions can impact accounts and groups even if they do not appear in the recertification activity. For instance, mandatory groups and some auto-provisioned accounts are not shown in the recertification activity. We can view the impact of your decisions by clicking the Preview the impact of your selections link.
  4. On the Response Submitted page, review that you have completed the activity. Click on the links on the Related tasks section to review other requests or return to the IBM Security Identity Manager Home page.
