Add or removing a catalog attachment

You can add an attachment to the master catalog, a sales catalog, a catalog category, or a catalog entry (including products, SKUs, bundles, and kits).


Procedure

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Depending on where to add an attachment:

    To add an attachment to: Execute the following steps:
    Master catalog

    1. Open the category tree for the master catalog:

      • Merchandise > Catalog Management

      • Products > Catalog Management

    2. Select the master catalog to which to add an attachment.

    3. Click Add Attachments.
    Sales catalog

    1. Open the Sales Catalog page:

      • Merchandise > Sales Catalogs

      • Products > Sales Catalogs

    2. Select the sales catalog to which to add an attachment.

    3. Click Add Attachments.
    Master catalog category

    1. Open the master catalog categories page:

      • Merchandise > Catalog Management

      • Products > Catalog Management

    2. Select the category to which to add an attachment.

    3. Click Add Attachments.
    Sales catalog category

    1. Open sales catalog categories:

      • Merchandise > Sales Catalogs

      • Products > Sales Catalogs

    2. Select the sales catalog that contains the category to which to add an attachment.

    3. Click Design.

    4. Select the category to which to add an attachment.

    5. Click Add Attachment.
    Products, bundles, and kits

    1. Open Catalog Entries:

      • Merchandise > Catalog Management

      • Products > Catalog Management

    2. Select the category or catalog containing the catalog entry to which to add an attachment.

    3. Click List Catalog Entries.

    4. Select the catalog entry to which to add an attachment.

    5. Select Attachment > Add Attachments.
    SKUs

    1. Open SKUs.

      • Merchandise > Catalog Management

      • Products > Catalog Management

    2. Select the category or catalog containing the SKU to which to add an attachment.

    3. Click List Catalog Entries.

    4. Select the catalog entry that contains the SKU to which to add an attachment.

    5. Click Actions > Show SKUs.

    6. Select the SKU to which to add an attachment.

    7. Select Attachment > Add Attachments.

  3. Execute one of the following tasks:

    To add an attachment by uploading a new file:

    1. Click Browse.

    2. In the Available attachments pane, select the folder to which to upload the attachment.

      You can create new subfolders by right-clicking a folder and selecting Create.

    3. In the Attachments pane, click Browse.

      Use the Browse window to locate the attachment file on the local machine.

    4. In the Choose file window, select the attachment and click Open.

    5. In the Attachments pane, click Upload. The newly uploaded file is displayed.

    6. Select the newly uploaded file and click Assign.

    To add an attachment by browsing the available attachments:

    1. Click Browse.

    2. Browse the directory tree in the Available attachments pane. The contents of each directory is displayed in the Attachments pane.

    3. Select an attachment and click Assign.

    To add an attachment by searching available attachments:

    1. Click Search.

    2. In the Find attachments pane, enter the search criteria and click Find.

    3. Select an attachment and click Assign.

    To add a URL attachment:

    1. Click URL.

    2. On the URL page, enter the URL. For example, http://www.mystore.net

    3. To preview the URL in a new window, click Preview URL.

    4. Click Assign.

  4. Select the attachment and click Change.

  5. Select a usage and a sequence for the attachment.

  6. Enter a name and a description for the attachment.

    To enter attachment names and descriptions in multiple languages, enter the information for one language, then select a different language and enter the information again. Repeat this until you have entered the information for all of the languages for which you want attachment name and use description information.

  7. (Optional) Change the languages with which the attachment file is associated.

  8. (Optional) Add additional attachment files for different languages to the attachment.

  9. Click OK.


Results

The attachment file is initially written to the WebSphere Commerce database. When certain criteria are met, the attachment file is copied from the WebSphere Commerce database to the WebSphere Commerce EAR file. Until the file exists in the WebSphere Commerce EAR file, you can view the attachment file only in a store page using the store preview function.

Remove a catalog attachment only removes the relationship between the catalog asset and the attachment. The attachment and the attachment files contained in the target remain and can be used by a different catalog asset.

To remove a catalog attachment:

  1. View the attachment.

  2. Select the attachment that to remove.

  3. Click Delete.
