Changing a product
You can change product information such as information about the name, product code, description, images, inventory, shipping charges, discounts, or manufacturer:
- Changing the product code
The product code is a unique identifier for the product, like a part number.
- Changing the product name
- Hide a product
You can hide a product so that it does not display to customers, for example, if the product is temporarily out of stock.
- Changing the product description
The product description is language specific; that is, if the product is offered at a French store and a Japanese store, and to change its description for both stores, change all of the description fields, as applicable, for each store.
- Changing the product image
You can change the product image or the location of the image:
- Changing the product manufacturer information
The product manufacturer information can be used for the reference or on store display pages to show manufacturer's information.
- Changing discount assignments for a product
This page is only enabled when using schema-based discounts, which is maintained for compatibility with earlier versions.To change discount assignments for a product, such as adding a discount to the product or removing a discount assigned to the product:
- Changing tax specifications for a product
You select taxes that apply to a product from a list of taxes that are defined in the store. Tax specifications for a product become the default tax specifications for SKUs based on this product. These tax specifications are used when calculating taxes on an order that include SKUs based on this product.
- Changing shipping information for a product
Shipping information can be used to calculate shipping charges.
- Track product inventory
You can track the product inventory for the fulfillment center.
- Customize product fulfillment for an order
You can customize product fulfillment for an order.
- Changing a product's measurement parameters
You can change the amount by which a product is measured or tracked by the inventory system and the units of measure for that amount.
- Changing the product URL
You can change the product URL, such as a Web page where software can be downloaded.
