Add a descriptive attribute

- Click New. The New Attribute page displays. Add the following information:
- The Language field is set to the store's default language.
- In the Name field, type the name of the attribute, such as "DryCleanOnly" or "MachineWashable". This name must be in the store's default language.
- In the Description field, type a brief description of the attribute.
- Under Type:
- Select the Text check box if the attribute contains text, such as a name.
- Select the Whole Number check box if the attribute contains numbers, such as a size.
- Select the Decimal Number check box if the attribute contains decimal points, such as a half size for shoes.
- Click OK to save the attribute.
Results
Notes:
- You must first create descriptive attributes in the store's default language, followed by any supported languages.
- An attribute value must exist for each descriptive attribute.
- If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator may need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
