List managed file details
You can see all of the managed directories and managed files that are available to use within attachments and view the details for each.
Procedure
- Open the Assets tool.
- From the explorer view filter, select Files to list the managed directories and select the directory for which to view details. You can also view details for the managed files that are contained within the selected directory.
Option Description Managed directories To view the contents of a managed directory, select the directory to display the list of managed files that it contains in the Files list view. Managed files To view information for a managed file, from the Files list view, double-click the managed file to display the file in the properties view or right-click the managed file; then click Open. The properties view displays the details of the selected file in the Properties tab and the References tab.
- The Properties tab displays information for the selected file in the Object Properties and Manage File sections. The Object Properties section is only displayed when you are working in a hosted store:
Option Description Associated Store This read-only field displays the name of the hosted store that you are currently working in. Manage File section:
Option Description File Browse for the file that to upload to the WebSphere Commerce Server. Name The name of the selected file on the WebSphere Commerce Server. Size The size of the selected file. A size of 0 indicates that the file is not managed by WebSphere Commerce. Path The path of the selected file. You cannot change the path of an existing file. The References tab displays the business objects that the selected file is assigned to. All fields within the References tab are read-only.
Option Description Attachments Lists the attachments that this managed file is assigned to. Sales Catalogs Lists the sales catalog objects that this managed file is assigned to. Categories Lists the category objects that this managed file is assigned to. Catalog Entries Lists the products, kits, bundles, and SKUs that this managed file is assigned to. Marketing Content Lists the marketing content that this managed file is assigned to.
In the Catalogs and Marketing tools, a managed file can be directly associated to sales catalogs, categories, catalog entries, or marketing content. In the Assets tool, the user can view the sales catalogs, categories, catalog entries, and marketing content with which a file is associated. However, WebSphere Commerce requires that a managed file can only be directly referenced by an attachment. Sales catalogs, categories, catalog entries, and marketing content internally reference an attachment, which in turn references a managed file. If a file has too many attachments to list, then all the other indirect lists (sales catalogs, categories, catalog entries, and marketing content) display the same message indicating that there are too many objects to list, instead of displaying these indirect references.
