Preview managed files and URLs

You can preview the contents of managed files or URLs. When you preview a managed file or URL, a separate browser window opens to display the contents of the selected file or URL. For example, if you preview an image file, a browser window opens to display the image contained in that file.
This type of preview is different from the store preview. Use the store preview to preview an attachment in a store page. For example, if you use the store preview to verify that an attachment works in a store page, the store preview opens a browser window to display the store page with the attachment.

Procedure

Open the Assets tool.

Preview the managed file or URL using one of the following methods:

Option Description
Preview managed file from the Files list view

From the explorer view filter, select Files to list the managed directories and select the directory that contains the file that to preview.

In the Files list view, right-click the managed file that to preview; then click Preview.

Preview managed file from the Utilities view

From the utilities view, click the Find tab.

From the search filter, select Files.

Within the find area, type a search string for the managed file that you want preview and click . The system performs a search based on the search criteria.

From the list of search results, right-click the managed file that to preview; then click Preview.

Preview managed file from the attachment

From the explorer view filter, select Attachments to list the attachments.

In the Attachments list view, right-click the attachment; then click Open. The properties view displays.

On the Manage Attachment tab, right-click the file that to preview; then click Preview.

Preview URL

From the explorer view filter, select Attachments to list the attachments.

In the Attachments list view, right-click the attachment; then click Open. The properties view displays.

In the Manage Attachment tab, right-click the URL that to preview; then click Preview.
