Work with attachments
Use the Assets tool to create, change, and delete attachments.
- Create attachments
Use the Assets tool to create an attachment with Web content, such as files or URLs.
- Changing attachments
You can edit generic information for the current attachment, such as the code, name, description, and files or URLs of the attachment.
- Delete attachments
You might want to delete an attachment if you no longer have any use for that attachment. When you delete an attachment, it is deleted from the WebSphere Commerce database. You cannot delete an attachment if it has already been assigned to any business objects.
- List attachments
You can see all of the attachments under the selected store by opening the Attachments list view. Use the Attachments list view to display a list of the attachments and view details for a specified attachment, such as generic information and the attachment assets that it contains.
- List attachment details
You can list attachments and view details for a specified attachment, such as the files or URLs that it contains.
- Add files to attachments
Use the Assets tool to add files to multilingual attachments, which make language-specific attachments available based on a customer's default browsing language.
- Delete files from attachments
You might want to delete a file from an attachment if you no longer have any use for that file. When you delete a file from an attachment, the file itself is not deleted. Only the relationship between the file and the attachment is deleted.
- Add URLs to attachments
You can add URLs to a selected attachment. For example, if several PDF files that describe the characteristics of a product are stored on a remote content server and you want a specific attachment to contain these PDF files, you can add the URL of these PDF files to the attachment.
- Delete URLs from attachments
You might want to delete a URL from an attachment if you no longer have any use for that URL.
- Changing assets
Assets are the URLs or files that are contained within a selected attachment. You can edit the URL path or change the languages of a URL or file of an existing attachment.
