Install IBM Lotus Domino Enterprise Server
Overview
You can install Lotus Domino Directory as an LDAP user registry for WebSphere Portal, Lotus IM and Team Workplace.
Tips for configuring
To configure Domino to support features of the portal, verify you select the following settings for Internet services:
- If you are setting up Domino as a data source for Lotus Team Workplace or Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing for use with the portal, select the following settings:
Web Browsers (HTTP Web services)
Directory services (LDAP)- Select Customize and select DIIOP (CORBA services).
Domino IIOP (DIIOP) is used to prepopulate some of the lists shown in the edit mode of the collaborative portlets.
- Register the Domino Server in your existing Domino domain and make sure the server name exactly matches your server machine name.
- Make sure that the server is part of the LocalDomainServers group on the Domino Hub.
- To add new WebSphere Portal users who are not already in the Domino Directory (names.nsf), use the Domino Administrator to add them to the server's Domino Directory.
- Ensure the Person documents of end users of WebSphere Portal have an Internet password.
- A user's Internet password is not the user's Lotus Notes password.
To configure the Websphere Portal Member Manager to recognize the user as part of a group do the following:
- Find and open the notes.ini file.
- Add this line to the end of the file: LDAPGroupMembership=1.
- Restart WebSphere Application Server and Domino.
In Domino 5.x, a good practice is to set the ini variable to LDAP_MailOnlyGroupOption in the notes.ini file. In Domino 6.x, the ini variable name is LDAPGroupMembership, and it should be set to 1. This ini variable is recommended because, by default, the Domino LDAP service does not search Domino "Mail only" groups and groups that do not have values for the GroupType attribute if particular search queries are specified. Also, because LDAPGroupmembership is set to 1, it is recommended that you full-text index the Domino directory to improve the speed of searches for the "Mail only" groups and groups that do no use the GroupType attribute.
