Install IBM Lotus Team Workplace
Overview
The information in this section is specific for installing the version of Lotus Team Workplace that is included with some editions of WebSphere Portal V5.1. A separate license is required to access Lotus Team Workplace from a source other than WebSphere Portal.
- Review Plan for collaboration.
- Review the Lotus documentation library.
- Review the Lotus support site for any updates to the Lotus Team Workplace documentation.
- Review Lotus TechNotes.
- If single signon is enabled on the Domino server where you will install Lotus Team Workplace...
- Install Lotus Team Workplace.
- Before you attempt to access Lotus Team Workplace from a Web browser, configure multi-server single signon for the Lotus Team Workplace server.
- Before you install Lotus Team Workplace for use with Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing
- If you will use Lotus Team Workplace and Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing together, install these servers on separate machines to maintain acceptable performance.
- A good practice to enable Lotus Team Workplace and Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing to work together, is to configure both servers to use the same LDAP directory. In addition, set up multi-server single signon authentication on both the Lotus Team Workplace server and Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing server.
- If you enable SSL on one of the servers, also enable it on the other server.
- Refer to the product documentation provided with the software
Check the Lotus Team Workplace software image for documentation. Depending on how you have accessed the software image, you might find the documentation on disc or on an image downloaded from a Web site.
- Software usage restrictions apply for Lotus Team Workplace. Read the product license that is provided with your copy of WebSphere Portal to understand the terms of entitlement for the Lotus Team Workplace software shipped with WebSphere Portal.
- You might have access to the Lotus Team Workplace installation programs on discs provided with WebSphere Portal, or on software images from a download site.
- Refer to the Domino and Extended Products Redbook
- Review the Lotus Domino 6.5.1 and Extended Products - Integration Guide, which provides information on the following:
- IBM Lotus Domino Enterprise Server 6.5.1
- IBM Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing 6.5.1
- IBM Lotus Team Workplace 6.5.1
Note that the the preceding document contains a chapter that is specific to using a previous version (5.0.2) of WebSphere Portal with Domino and Extended Products. This chapter is entitled, Domino 6.5.1 and Extended Products with WebSphere Portal. Some information in that chapter is helpful for integrating Domino and the Extended products with WebSphere Portal V5.1, while other information is not applicable for V5.1. If applicable, specific references to that chapter are provided in this Information Center to help you set up your environment. Any other areas in that chapter that are not specfically referenced by this Information Center should not be used.
