Working with themes
Themes provide the overall look and feel of your portal application.
Creating new themes
In addition to using the existing themes, you can use the New Theme wizard to create customized themes for your project. Note that when naming your theme in Portal Designer, you will have to create a name that contains no spaces so that it will render properly on WebSphere® Portal.
Editing existing themes within Page Designer
You can edit theme appearances using the Properties view; however, it is recommended to create a new theme and customize it rather than editing the existing theme directly.
Changing themes within Portal Designer
You can change the default theme for pages, labels, or the entire portal by using both the Properties and Outline views.
Adding parameters
You can specify new metadata parameters. You can also add or edit existing parameter values.
Testing and debugging theme JSPs
To view changes to your theme and skins JSP files without restarting the portal server, you can force the test server to automatically check for new versions of JSPs after deployment of theme/skin files. For more information, refer to Optimizing JSP file testing.
