Using the Outline View
The Outline view displays the hierarchical organization of the pages, labels, tasks, and URL's in a portal site. Use this view to create, modify, relocate, and delete the design elements of a portal site
These steps will help you learn to manipulate portal content using the Outline view:
- In the Outline view, expand the Layout node and a list of pages will appear in the root of this node.
- To view the layout hierarchy of a page, expand the page's node and as you expand each node, elements such as rows, columns, and portlets will appear.
- To surface one of these elements in the Portal Configuration, click on the element. The element you select will appear in with a black outline around it in the Portal Configuration. The editable attributes for this element will also surface in the Properties view.
For WebSphere® Portal 6.0, and later, projects, different navigational root elements will be available to you in the Outline view depending on how you created your project. You can view and edit the children of a Content Root node in the Rational® Software Delivery Platform.
