Changing themes
By using both the Outline and Properties views, you can quickly change the theme for a label, page, or the entire portal project.
Changing the default theme for the entire portal application
To change the default theme for an entire portal application:
In the Outline view, expand the
Elements node; then expand the
Themes node.
Note: The current default theme is marked by a unique icon.
The default theme applies only to labels and pages that do not have a theme already specified.
- Highlight the theme that you want to set as the default.
- In the Properties view, click the
default check box.
Changing the theme for a label or page
To change the theme for a label or page:
- Click on a label or page node to activate its Properties view.
- In the Properties view, use the
Theme menu to select the theme that you want to use for your label or page.
When you specify the theme for a label or page, you override any theme changes for the default theme that you made for this label or page.
Changing the theme policy
In WebSphere® Portal projects, you can specify a theme policy for a label or a page in their respective Properties view.
The theme policy sets parameters for a theme, which enable the theme to support pages with different layouts and different theme elements. For example, by specifying the SingleTopNav theme policy, a theme becomes applicable for the more general pages or labels, such as Home. By specifying the SideNavOnlyMinimum theme policy, a theme becomes applicable for a page such as the Login page.
Changing the color palette
In WebSphere Portal projects, the color palette defines CSS values for color. Themes can be extended by defining multiple color palettes.
To change the color palette, open the Properties view for a label or page, and select a color palette from the menu. In the menu, you can add a new palette.
