Deprecated feature: The partitioning facility (WPF) feature is deprecated. You can configure partitioning with WebSphere eXtreme Scale.
LPAR expansion
For a cluster member hosted on an LPAR, it might be possible to allocate more central processing unit (CPU) resource to provide additional capacity for the partition. This solution does not require an outage and illustrates the major advantage of using the partitioning facility (WPF) framework.
On the z/OS platform, the hardware Intelligent Resource Director (IRD) can be used to do this automatically
