Transforming data using XML maps
When you are integrating services, you almost always need to transform the data into a format that the receiving service can process. You can use the XML map editor to create an XML map between input and output data. An XSL style sheet is generated from the XML map and performs the transformation at run time.
- Create a new XML map
An XML map defines mappings between input and output business objects or service message objects. XSL style sheets generated from the XML maps are used at run time to transform the data. XML maps are used with Mapping primitives in mediation flows.- Editing an XML map
After you create an XML map, you can edit it using the XML map editor.- Functions and transforms
In the XML map editor, you map elements and attributes between source and target business objects or messages, and then you apply transform logic that specifies the action to be performed on the source data. A substitution group is a construct in XML Schema (XSD) that allows a set of elements to be substituted for a head element.
