Create XML maps for WebSphere DataPower Appliance
You can create XML maps between business objects (XSDs) and run the generated XSL transform on the DataPower Appliance.
You can create maps in the XML map editor between input and output business objects. The XML map editor provides pre programmed functions called transforms, and also provides support for XSL, XPath 1.0, XPath 2.0, EXSLT and DataPower functions. XSLT files are generated from the XML map, and you can then run the XSL transforms on a DataPower appliance.
To use the DataPower functions, you must enable the DataPower capability.
To create XML maps, perform these tasks:
- Create a DataPower library.
- Create input and output business objects.
Important: When you create a business object for DataPower, create the business object as a global element, by selecting the option Create the business object as an element in the New Business Object wizard.
- You can also use existing XSDs by importing them into the workspace using File > Import. Business objects are automatically created for the XSDs and you can map them in the XML map editor.
- Create an XML map.
- Complete the mapping between the input and output business objects. Save the map to generate the XSL transform. Transforming data using XML maps.
- To use DataPower functions in the XML map editor, see DataPower functions
