Enable process integration
Overview
With WebSphere Portal v6.1.5, business processes are always run on a remote WebSphere Process Server server. To integrate...
- Install the WebSphere Process Server Client on top of WebSphere Portal
- Run the configuration task for enabling process integration
Depending on setup type, you then..
- Federate WebSphere Portal into the WebSphere Process Server cell
- Configure single sign-on between WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Process Server
After this, business process applications that already exist on the process server and new business process applications that install on the process server become visible in the portal.
Since WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Process Server are running on distinct servers, the communication between the portlets on the WebSphere Portal server and the processes on the WebSphere Process Server has to be set up. The WebSphere Process Server supports multiple connection protocols. Portlets delivered with WebSphere Portal use EJB based communication. The required helper classes are provided by the WebSphere Process Server client install.
