Specifying forgotten password information

We can use the forgotten password information to authenticate to the server when you forget a password.

This task is only available when challenge-response authentication is enabled. Otherwise, you must contact your help desk or system administrator to have a password reset.

To define forgotten password information.

  1. From the IBM Security Identity Manager Home page, click Change Forgotten Password Information on the My Password page.
  2. On the Change Forgotten Password Information page, specify the information to use if you forget a password:
    • If specific questions are displayed, enter the answers in the Answer field. If you forget a password, these answers are the ones you use to authenticate to the server.
    • If both Question and Answer fields are displayed, enter the questions and the answers to those questions in the fields.
    • Some fields might contain already answered questions. These fields can be left alone or modified. To modify a field when specific questions are displayed, click Clear to enter in a new answer. When both the Question and Answer fields are displayed, click Edit to modify these values and provide the questions and the answers to those questions in those fields.
  3. Click OK to save the information.
