Copy a layout

We can make a copy of any existing layout and use it as a starting point for a new layout. The copy is identical to the existing layout, including the page assignments and widgets.


Procedure

  1. Open the Commerce Composer tool.

  2. List and then copy the layout. Use one of these methods:

    Option Description
    Method 1: list the layout according to the page it is assigned to

    1. In the explorer view, expand the Content Pages or Catalog Pages for store folder until the page is listed. If the page is in the Content Pages folder, click the folder.

    2. Right-click the page, and then click Show Layout List.

    3. In the Layout List view, right-click the row containing the layout to copy.

    4. Click Create Copy.

      A copy of the layout opens.

    Method 2: list the layout directly

    1. In the explorer view, click the Layouts folder, or click a subfolder containing the layout to copy.

    2. In the Layout List view, click the row containing the layout to copy.

    3. In the toolbar, click

      Copy.

    4. In the toolbar, click

      Paste.

      A copy of the layout opens.

  3. In the Layout name field, change the name to a suitable name.

  4. Make any additional changes to the layout.

  5. Click Save.
