Changing the parent category
Changing the parent category for a catalog category moves a category and its contents under the new parent category.
Procedure
- Find the category to change.
- Select the category to change and click Change.
- Click Parent.
- Expand and collapse the category tree for the catalog, to choose the parent category. The highlighted category becomes the parent category.
- To save the changed category name and close the notebook, click OK.
What to do next
- If you change a category's location in the catalog asset store, the price or availability of the reseller products and SKUs may be affected. As a result, inform each reseller of the potential change. Once the category has changed location, resellers must cancel the category's settings, save the changes, then set the product and SKU adjustment again using the Catalog Filter. Resellers must also do the same for any subcategories within the changed category.
- If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator may need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
