Social Commerce features
The Social Commerce features include public-facing user profiles, integrated blogs, photo galleries, social bookmarks, and customer ratings and reviews.
The following table lists and describes the Social Commerce features.
Feature Description Public-facing user profiles Shoppers can create a public online community profile to provide personal information that can be shared with other shoppers. Public user profiles enable shoppers to view details about the online community members that they interact with. Shoppers can:
- Create a public-facing user profile as part of their user registration with the store.
- View the user profiles of other shoppers, as well as any social content created by those shoppers.
Registered shoppers can:
- Update their current public online community profile.
- Upload a picture to use for their online community profile.
Blogs Registered shoppers and participants in the online community can share their experience with a product or a category. Registered shoppers can:
- Create a new blog or post new blog entries for a product, brand, category, or any topics defined by the merchant.
- View all of the available blog entries, as well as all of the specific category, brand, and product blog entries in the corresponding category or product page.
- List the blog entries chronologically.
- Comment on blog entries.
- Recommend blog entries with single-click endorsements and built-in scoring.
- Report improper blog entries to the merchant.
Guest shoppers can only view existing blog entries and the comments created for these blog entries.
Photo galleries Registered shoppers can upload and display their favorite photos in the storefront to share their experiences using photographs. Other shoppers and participants in the online community can view these photos and post comments. Registered shoppers can:
- Upload photos for a specific topic to a product gallery.
- Add captioning to their uploaded photos.
- View all available photos, as well as all of the specific product photos in the corresponding product page.
- List the photos chronologically.
- Comment on photos.
- Recommend photos with single-click endorsements and built-in scoring.
- Report improper photos to the merchant.
Guest shoppers can only view existing photos and the comments created for these photos.
Social bookmarks Shoppers can create page-level bookmarks to share a store page that contains social content on social bookmarking sites, such as Digg, Delicious, Google, and Facebook. Customer ratings and reviews Registered shoppers can rate and review products. Registered shoppers can:
- Rate products and items on scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest rating.
- List the review entries chronologically (default) or by those with the highest rating.
- Write review comments about a product or an item.
- View all review comments and ratings for a product or an item.
- View the average rating for a product or an item derived from the ratings given by other shoppers.
Guest shoppers can only view ratings and reviews.
