Configure the B2B direct store

When you publish the B2B direct starter store, many optional features are enabled. For example, there is a field on the store's Registration page that asks customers to specify their gender. If you do not want this field to be displayed in the store, you can remove it through the Change Flow notebook. In general, you can change the following aspects of the store flow:

    Registration
    Option Description When to use Implications Enabled by default
    Preferred language Allows customers to select the language in which the store displays. The store is available in more than one language. Ensure that product descriptions and names are entered for every language that the store supports. Yes
    Preferred currency Allows customers to select the currency in which product and item prices display. Customers can purchase merchandise in more than one currency. Ensure that currency exchange rates are set for all supported currencies.

    To set exchange rate, add entries in the CURCONVERT table. Alternatively, enter the product prices in all supported currencies.

    Catalog

    Include category selection list Adds a list to the header that displays all categories and subcategories in the store. Enables customers to quickly go to any section of the store's catalog. None. No

    Orders
    Option Description When to use Enabled by default
    Shop total Allows customers to see the current value of their order, and the number of items in the shopping cart, without going to the Shopping Cart page. The shopping total is displayed in the sidebar and can be seen on all store pages. Not applicable. Yes
    Quick order Allow customers to enter a SKU to order an item quickly. The item is added to the shopping cart. Use quick order when customers are likely to know the SKU numbers. For example, if the store sends out paper catalogs the customer could simply enter the SKU number, as printed in the catalog, on the Quick Order form. No
    Include requisition list Allows registered customers to create a reusable list of items to create orders at a later date. Customers can create requisition lists of items that they reorder frequently and use the requisition list to periodically re-order the items. Not applicable. Yes

    Quick checkout Allows registered customers to complete an order by using shipping and billing information that has already been defined in the quick checkout profile. To use a quick orders, customers must first create a quick checkout profile, which includes entering billing and shipping addresses, shipping method, and payment information. Yes
    Single or multiple shipping addresses per order Allows customers to ship all items in an order to a single address, or to ship items within an order to multiple shipping addresses. If this option is disabled, customers can only ship an order to a single address. Yes
    Single or multiple shipping methods per order Allows customers to ship all items in an order using a single shipping method, or to ship items within an order using multiple shipping methods. For example, a customer could ship one item using Express mail and all other items using Regular mail. If this option is disabled, customers can only ship an order using a single shipping method. Yes
    Enable promotion code entry Allows customers to redeem promotions by entering promotion codes on the Order Summary page and Quick Checkout Order Summary page.

    The order summary page in the B2B store only displays addresses of type SB or B. The earlier versions of WebSphere Commerce supported other types of addresses, and the present version does not support proper migration of user addresses.

    Enable purchase order entry Allows customers to enter a purchase order number to be processed by a Customer Service Representative. You may select to display the purchase order entry field either along with or in place of the configured payment methods.     Order status
    Option Description When to use Implications Enabled by default
    Track Order Status Allows customers to track the status of their order. For example, customers can see if an order is still waiting approval, is already processed, or is scheduled to be processed. If the store will update the order status during payment authorization, capture and fulfillment. If you use WebSphere Commerce Payments this field will show the current status. If the store does not update the order status, this field should be disabled since the value that it displays may be misleading to customers. No
    Show shipment tracking URL A shipment tracking URL allows customers to track the shipment status of their order by linking to the appropriate shipping provider's Web site.
