Add a child category to a parent category

You can add a child category to a parent category within the same sales catalog. For example, in a seasonal clothing sales catalog, the hats category can be added to the summer clothing parent category.


Procedure

  1. Open the Catalogs tool.

  2. From the explorer filter, select Sales Catalog Categories.

  3. Select the parent category in the explorer tree.

  4. Right-click the parent category; then click Show Subcategories. The parent category Sales Categories List view is displayed.

  5. Add the child category to the parent category.

    1. Click the Show utilities view.

    2. Browse for the child category and drag it to the Sales Categories List view.

      A dialog is displayed and you are provided with the following choices: Move, Copy, Add, or Cancel; select Add to add the category to the parent category.

      If the sales categories do not belong to the same sales catalog, the dialog provides you with the following choices instead: Copy, Link, or Cancel.

  6. Click .
