Activity templates

Activity templates are starting points from which business users can build Web and Dialog activities. You can choose from one of the standard activity templates supplied with the Management Center, or you can create the own custom activity templates.

Standard activity templates

The Management Center includes the following standard Web activity templates:

Blank Web Activity

This Web activity template is empty. Use it as a starting point to build any type of Web activity.

Catalog Entry Recommendation

This Web activity template displays a product recommendation to customers.

Category Recommendation

This Web activity template displays a category recommendation to customers.

Content Recommendation

This Web activity template displays content to customers, for example, an advertisement.

Merchandising Association Recommendation

This Web activity template displays predefined merchandising associations to customers.

Promotion Recommendation

This Web activity template displays content that is associated with a promotion to customers.

When using these Web activity templates, select the e-Marketing Spot in which to display the activity, and the appropriate asset to display to customers. You are able to add additional target conditions as well, for example to target customers who have some particular item in their shopping cart.

The Management Center includes the following standard Dialog activity template:

Blank Dialog Activity

This Dialog activity template is empty. Use it as a starting point to build any type of Dialog activity.

Custom activity templates

If the standard activity templates do not meet the needs, you can create custom activity templates for both Web and Dialog activities. There are two ways to create a custom activity template: you can either build an activity to use as a template from scratch, or you can create a template based on an existing activity. Either way, you can then use the custom activity template as a starting point when you are creating new activities.

Location of activity templates

When you create a new Web or Dialog activity, the following window opens and presents folders from which you can select from the available standard and custom activity templates:
