Migrate WebSphere Commerce
Migrate WebSphere Commerce includes completing steps in a specific order.
These steps can be performed separately over a period of time, but the steps must be completed in order as shown. For example, you can perform the database migration and then complete the application migration at a later date.
- Performing pre-migration actions including:
- Back up the WebSphere Commerce database.
- Upgrade the software.
- Migrate the database.
- Migrate the application.
- Configure the application and Web server.
- Verify the migration.
Configuring the application and Web server is a single task that should be performed at the same time.
- Prepare to migrate WebSphere Commerce
The following sections describe specific steps complete while you still have the production system running. The sections also describes some considerations make prior to beginning the migration to WebSphere Commerce 7.0. If you do not complete the pre-migration actions, the database tier migration might not succeed. The migration program reports any problems in as much detail as requested at execution time. If such a situation occurs, let the migration program run to completion to report all the problems it finds in the first run. This provides opportunity to fix all problems before the program is run again.
