Customization options extend the capabilities of the Marketing tool
If the default features of the Management Center marketing component do not meet the business needs, you can now customize the component. Supported customization scenarios cover Web and Dialog activities, e-Marketing Spots, and customer segments.
The software engineers at IBM have built the Management Center marketing component with customization in mind so that you can extend or tailor certain aspects the component. This might involve customizing the Management Center user interface, the marketing services, or both.
Here are a few examples of supported customization scenarios:
- For Web and Dialog activities:
- Create an entirely new trigger, target or action to use in a Web or Dialog activity
- Changing how an existing trigger, target, or action works
- Rearrange the contents of the Activity Builder palette
- For e-Marketing Spots:
- Customize how the marketing services return marketing content to an e-Marketing Spot on the storefront
- Changing the default settings for e-Marketing Spot data filters, for example, the filter that controls whether to display products with an inventory less than a configured amount
- For customer segments
- Add new customer segment attributes to the customer segment properties view
- Remove existing attributes from the customer segment properties view
To support the customization goals, the Information Center provides step-by-step procedures for the supported customization scenarios, as well as supporting information, such as API and database documentation, and code samples.
