  1. Disable security

  2. Install the LDAP server on the same machine as WebSphere Portal or on a remote machine.

  3. When setting up an LDAP server with a cluster, perform the configuration steps only on the primary node.

  4. If you will be configuring collaborative services and user authentication, Domino Directory is recommended for the LDAP server.

    On i5/OS only Tivoli Directory Server and Domino Directory LDAP servers are supported locally.

  5. If you will be using a Lookaside database and/or WCM, set the LookAside property to true.

    If you do not set this to true during configuration, we cannot use the Lookaside database or Web Content Management without reinstalling.
