After setting up the LDAP server, configure it to work with IBM WebSphere Portal.

After installation, security is enabled. To change the security configuration, first disable security. Then go to the appropriate security configuration file to re-enable security.

The topics listed under Next steps will configure the IBM WAS to access the LDAP server through the database user registry. In this configuration, one or more user registries and, therefore one or more realms, can be created. Refer to Multiple virtual portals for information about creating separate, customizable portals for different groups of users within an organization.

The recommended configuration is for LDAP with realm support, which will allow us to create virtual portals in the future.

Select the LDAP server you are using for specific instructions for customizing the configuration properties file and running configuration tasks for each type of supported LDAP server.
