Overview

Note that the default default working library in Document Manager only allows one to modify a subset of the settings. To fully configure a document library create new a document library.

Document Library Settings

These settings affect only a particular instance of Document Manager. For example, you might have multiple instances of Document Manager installed on one page, and each instance can be configured differently. Document Manager A might be set up to use a different document library than that of Document Manager B.

To modify settings, from the Document Manager portlet page, click the wrench icon.

Set the working document library Document library for the Document Manager instance.
Turn on new document indicator Indicate documents that are new or have been recently modified by the word New! next to them. With the indicator turned on for the Document Manager instance, the user can set the number of days for the indicator to display in the edit mode for his or her portlet instance.
Enable conversions Allow users to view documents originally created in other formats in HTML.
Enable editors Allow users to work with Productivity Components.
Disable the browser plugin Disable the browser plugin that allows users to edit documents using applications installed on their computer. With the plugin disabled, users will only be able to create and edit documents using the Portal editors. Users will still be able to import other document types with the browser plugin disabled.
Enable the folder tree Turn on the folder tree option.

With the folder tree enabled, users will have the option to display the document library folder hierarchy vertically, starting at the document library root folder.

With the folder tree disabled, users will only be able to display the table view, which lists the contents of the current document library without the tree view on the left.

Users click Show folders to display the tree view along with the table view, and users click Hide folders to display only the table view. Also, if you configure the folder tree to be enabled, the option to turn on the folder tree is also displayed in edit mode.

Enable Active Content Filtering Remove potentially harmful active content (such as JavaScript, Java, and ActiveX) from HTML prior to displaying it in a browser.
Configure the default root path for your portlet Allow the administrator to specify an existing subfolder within the current document library as the root folder for each portlet instance. Upon login, users will begin their session from this configured root folder. If you select a default root folder that has been deleted, renamed, or inaccessible to the current user, the default root path will revert to the current document library root. Users will still have the ability to navigate to any accessible folder in the document library.

Send a link

To use the Send a link feature, set the wcm.mail.smtp.host property to your SMTP server and the wcm.mail.return.address property to the sender address in...

Modified configuration settings do not take effect until users log out and log back in to Document Manager. Be careful when modifying configuration settings while Document Manager is in use.
