Using IBM Content Manager as a datastore for Document Manager
Before you begin
IBM Content Manager should be installed prior to installing WebSphere Portal. When installing IBM Content Manager, also install DB2 Information Integrator for Content.
Note the following:
- IBM Content Manager and DB2 Information Integrator for Content are separately packaged products. Please see the IBM software site for installation instructions.
- The IBM Content Manager databases can be on the same machine as the WPCP Authoring Server, or on any number of machines.
- DB2 Information Integrator for Content must be installed on the same machine as WebSphere Portal.
Install and configuring IBM Content Manager
To manage large collections of data or multimedia collections, you might want to use WebSphere Portal content publishing with IBM Content Manager.
Before you install WebSphere Portal to work with IBM Content Manager, install IBM Content Manager and DB2 Information Integrator for Content and their prerequisites. Follow the installation instructions provided with each of these products.
