Overview

IWWCM users and groups attributes are managed by Member Manager.

By default, a "wcmadmins" group is available as the default administrators group for IWWCM. The wcadmins group has full access to all IWWCM...

To specify a different administrators group, edit connect.cfg, and set the AdminGroupCommonName parameter

Note that the WebSphere Portal Administrators group is not automatically added to the wcmadmins group. To add, run...

Administration |Access |Users and Groups | All Portal User Groups | wcmadmins | Add member | wpsadmins | OK

...and then log out of WebSphere Portal and log back in.

To allow IWWCM administration users to edit the security settings in IWWCM items, pull up the WebSphere Console for your portal portal server, go to...

Applications | Enterprise Applications | wmmApp

...and add the wcmadmins group to the Everyone Role within the Map Security Roles to Users/Groups section.

Restart WebSphere Portal after making these changes.

 

Create Other Groups

Other IWWCM specific groups can also be created...

Authoring Portlet Groups The Authoring Portlet can be configured to grant access to different IWWCM items and views. Create a set of IWWCM specific groups in Member Manager that can be used to set different levels of access to IWWCM items and views.
Rendered Site Groups Create IWWCM specific groups in Member Manager if you would like to grant different sets of Users access to different sections of your Web Site.

 

Restrict "Live" access to anonymous or authenticated users

The following user and groups can be selected in the "live" security view of IWWCM items to restrict "live" access to either anonymous users, authenticated users or both.

anonymous portal user IWWCM items that grant Live access to this user can only be viewed by Anonymous users accessing a Web Site or Portlet.
[all authenticated portal users] IWWCM items that grant Live access to this group can only be viewed by users that have been authenticated by Member Manager when accessing a Web Site or Portlet.
[all users] IWWCM items that grant Live access to this group can be viewed by all Users accessing a Web Site or Portlet.
